Calar de la Santa

Calar de la Santa is a small Murcia town administratively integrated in the hamlet of San Bartolomé, in the municipality of Moratalla. Its name derives from calar in the sense of "place where the limestone rock abounds" (Academy), something not infrequent in the near toponymy (Cañaíca of the Calar in Moratalla, Cuevas del Calar in Sierra Espuña, the natural park of the Calares of the World and the Sima in Albacete, etc.).

It is a mountainous area located at the foot of the mountain ranges of Villafuerte and close to Revolcadores.
