Nana Akomea is a leading politician in Ghana. He has served as Minister of Vocational Training and Employment in the Cabinet of President John Agyekum Kufuor since 1 August 2007. Already during the first term of Kufuor, Akomea was Minister of Information and Presidential Affairs. He is a member of Parliament for Okaikwei South as a member of the New Patriotic Party. As a parliamentarian, Akomea was chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Trade.
He comes from Nsutam in the Eastern region. He studied communication science at the University of Ghana and graduated in 1991. He started his professional career at Focal Point Advertising Company before moving to the Parliament. He is unmarried and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
