Martin de Barea
Martin de Barea or Martin de Narea was the greatest master of the works of the Cathedral of Las Palmas in the sixteenth century.
He was born in Puebla de Aulestia (Vizcaya), and probably formed in Seville. In 1553 it signs a contract with the cathedral chapter in which it replaces Juan de Palacios in the position of major master of the works of the Cathedral of the Canary Islands. It will draw the width of the chapels of the nave of the Epistle, and will design the current roof of the Cathedral and the forest of rocky palms. He also designed a chapel for the church of Santiago de Gáldar.
He died in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1562.
