Gustav Hopf (Dermatologist)
Gustav Hopf (born May 5, 1900 in Hamburg, Germany) was a German dermatologist and physician.
Hopf studied in Marburg, Munich, Kiel and Hamburg and in 1932 he qualified as a professor in dermatology. In November 1933 he signed the confession of the German professors to Adolf Hitler. Since 1945 he has been the head physician of the Department of Skin Diseases at the Hamburg Heidberg Hospital. In 1945/46 he headed the Eppendorfer Universitätshautklinik in parallel after the dismissal of the National Socialist Paul Mulzer. He was a member of the Federal Health Council and chairman of a specialist committee for scientific cosmetics in the German Society of Fetics, where he was chairman from 1968 to 1969. Since 1960, he has been the President of the Association of German Chief Physicians representing the occupational interests of this professional group. In 1970 he received the Paracelsus Medal.
