Táblaida Óblast

The Oblast of Taurida (from the Ukrainian Таврійська область) was a province of the Russian Empire. It was created after the annexation of the Crimean khanate by decree of the Empress Catherine II of Russia, on February 13, 1784. The Kanato territories included Tamán, the Crimean peninsula and the continental north of it. The capital, initially Bilohirsk, was transferred to Simferopol soon after.

With the territorial reorganization carried out by Tsar Paul I, the oblast of Taurida was suppressed on December 12, 1796 and its territory became part of the Gubernia of Novorosíisk. Administrative divition
