Michel Eustache Vilaire

Eustache Vilar began his career as conductor of the choir of the church of Bautista Central in Caracas. He studied choral conducting with Alberto Grau, attended the Choir School of the "Fundación Schola Cantorum de Caracas" and the Conservatory of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana Simón Bolívar.
After studying at Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) in Caracas, he was artistic director of the "Movimiento Coral" Cantemos "Fundación Schola Cantorum" from 1977 to 1987. He also worked for 8 years as a professor of conducting and choral conducting at the Escuela de Canto Coral and taught choir singing at the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud, Venezolana Simón Bolívar. In 1982 he gave seminars at the "Choralies de Vaison-la Romaine" in France, at "Europa Cantat" in Belgium and the "XIX. Jornadas de Canto Coral "in Spain.
Since 1989, he has been teaching choral conducting and singing at UPEL. In Curaçao he worked for several years as a teacher for choral singing and jurors at the international Chorfestivals. He is the head of the Grupo Vocal Bach, as well as the Orfeón Juan Bautista Plaza of the UPEL, the Coral de Petróleos de Venezuela and the Chor Corpov. He worked with his choirs, as a guest dignitary and as a juror in Latin America, the USA and Europe.
Eustache Vilar composed psalms, motets, madrigals and choral songs. He is also - as the winner of a composition competition - composer of the Anthem of the Ministerio Público of Venezuela. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
