Sermile or Sermilia (Greek, Σερμύλη) was an ancient Greek city on the Chalcidice peninsula. It is mentioned by Herodotus as one of the cities - along with Torone, Galepso, Meciberna and Olinto - located in Sitonia where Xerxes, after doubling the Cape Ampelo recruited troops and ships in its expedition of 480 a. C. against Greece.
Later the city belonged to the league of Delos since it is mentioned in lists of tributes to Athens from 454/3 to 434/3 a. C.
In the year 432 a. C. many sermilios died in an ambush realized by Aristeo.
In the peace of Nicias of the year 421 a. It was stipulated that the Athenians would decide on the cities of Sermilio, Escíone and Torone, which they occupied.
It has been suggested that it should be located in a settlement located about 3 km from modern Ormilia, about 12 km east of Olinto, on the banks of the Miliada River.
