Palacio Avenida
Palácio Avenida (now the home of a private bank) decorated for Christmas parties in Curitiba.
The Avenida Palace (Avenida Palace) is one of the most important historical buildings in Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná, Brazil. It is located in the center of the city at the intersection of Avenida Luiz Oliveira Xavier and the Bello crossroads. History
The building, built in 1929, was built by immigrants and Syrian-Lebanese businessman Feres Merhy with an original architectural design by Valentine Freitas Oliveira Bernardino Asunción and Bortolo Bergonse.
Throughout its history, the imposing complex of about 18 thousand square meters located cafes (as folk Guairacá Bar) and Cinema Avenue, one of the first theaters of the state capital.
In the late 1980's Avenida Palace reached its highest point of structural degradation. Only his remains remained relatively intact. It was restored and reopened on March 5, 1991 Bank Bamerindus to be the main office of this type (settled) financial institution.
With the sale of shares to the Hong Kong multinational and Shanghai Banking Corporation, it became the national headquarters of HSBC Bank Brazil.
The complex is in a mixture of bank branch and cultural space, with the Avenida Theater, with capacity for 250 spectators.
Since 1991, there has traditionally been a Christmas show at the Palacio Avenida windows with the children's choir and typical songs. This show has become quite representative of the year-end parties in Curitiba and is known throughout Brazil, which receives a large influx of tourists.
