Master of Adelaide de Savoie
As a master of the Adelaide de Savoie or masters of Poitiers 30, a medieval book-painter, who was active in France in the second half of the fifteenth century, probably in Poitiers
The artist, who is not known by name, received his nicknames after two works with his miniatures. He was first named after his miniatures in an hourly book from the possession of the Adelaide of Savoy, a daughter of Louis XIV. Then it was proposed to name him after two of his miniatures in a missal for use in Poitiers. The painter is regarded as the most important representative of the book painting of the regional school of Poitiers.
The master has also contributed miniatures to the Poitiers Literary Book in the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. Especially in his paintings in this work, created by a group of painters, a closeness to the style of the master of Jouvenel of the Ursins is recognizable.
