Church of the Visitation (Heilbrunn)
The parish and pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic church in Kirchweiler Heilbrunn in the municipality of Anger in eastern Styria
The church was built in 1787 on the site of a predecessor chapel, with a long nave with a flat ceiling and a single-choir choir with 3/8 and a vestibule below the organ mound. In the east, a slightly prominent tower is integrated into the church. The josephic Saalkirche is one of the very few representatives of this style in Styria; this type of church was developed under the Emperor Joseph II and impresses with its simplicity and clarity. By the presence of only one ship, the parish priest, who also had "secular" embassies, was to be able to reach the entire parishion.
The high altar from 1833 with a structure with columns is by the carpenter Josef Flausch and was by the painter Caspar Tendler. The Hochaltar replaced the Wolfgangsaltar from 1764, which was originally built for the Dominican nunnery in Graz. The figures of Wolfgang's altar Joachim and Anna von Veit Königer still exist. The reconstruction of the high altar took place according to a draft by Ludwig von Kurz to Thurn and Goldenstein. There are two side altars with paintings by Anton Jantl from 1791.
The church has an organ from the 19th century, and a bell by Peter Zwölfer from 1673.
In front of the church is a fountain chapel with a sculpture group of the Visitation of the Virgin from the end of the 18th century. Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
