Andrei Alexejewitsch Schegalow (russian Андрей Алексеевич Жегалов; * May 27, 1964 in Tashkent, Soviet Union, † January 25, 2007 in Moscow, Russia) was a Russian Cameraman.
Schegalow completed his training as a Cameraman with Alexander Galperin in the early 1990s and then worked for Lenfilm. Already three years later he was able to win a competition of the Lenfilm in the area of professional image management, which immediately meant his breakthrough as Kameramann. He made his debut in 1994 in Alexei Balabanov's castle (Замок). He was followed by film assignments for which he was awarded prizes during his career, such as Kukushka (Der Kuckuck, 2002). For this film, he was honored with the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art.
Schegalov was considered to be one of the most prestigious Cameramans in Russia when he died for 42 years as a result of a famine in a Moscow hospital.
