Palacio Anchieta. This article is about the headquarters of the executive power of Espírito Santo. For the palace located in the Basque Country, see Palacio Antxieta.

The Anchieta Palace is the seat of the executive power of the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo and is located in front of the port of Vitória, at the entrance to Cidade Alta, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. History

It was built in the 16th century by Jesuit priests and until 1760 housed the school of St. James. Located in the upper part of the city, it keeps the symbolic tomb of Father José de Anchieta (his mortal remains had been sent to Portugal, but the ship that carried them wrecked), who used to walk on foot the 100 kilometers separating Victoria to the municipality of Anchieta, in the south of the state. The palace is used as the seat of government of the state of Espírito Santo since the eighteenth century, being one of the oldest governmental headquarters in Brazil.
