Aircraft Institute
The Aircraft Institute was an Argentine aeronautical organization, created 20 of October of 1943 by Decree-Law 11822 - BAP no. 2057 ratified by law 12911, originally dependent of the General Direction of Aeronautical Material of the Army of the Republic Argentina. The same had personnel, facilities and means of the then Military Aircraft Factory (FMA) in the province of Cordoba.
Its objective was the unification of knowledge and materials of the aeronautical technique. When the Aeronautical Secretariat was created in 1944, the Institute also covers an important role in the design and development of aircraft, which was then carried out by the FMA or private industry. He developed and integrated numerous projects, which varied in designation, using the nomenclature "I.Ae." and later "I.A." or "AI."
Since November 3, 1961, it has been restructured into the Aeronautical and Space Research Institute (IIAE), under the National Directorate of Aeronautical Manufacturing and Research (DINFIA, former Aeronautical and Mechanical Industries of the State) .
