World's Smallest Political Quiz
World's Smallest Political Quiz is an educational policy quiz, consisting of just 10 questions grouped into two parts, the Civil and Economic issues, each of 5 questions each It is an initiative of the American libertarian organization Advocates for Self Government, founded in 1985 by Marshall Fritz. Fritz had the idea of combining two elements: the Nolan Chart, and a short test that will help people to place themselves in a place within the chart.
The result of the test helps locate the political ideology of the people who do it through the Nolan Chart, published by David Nolan in 1971, and which is a political diagram that contemplates two dimensions, the economic scale and the scale personal. At the end of the test the result can be any of 5 categories, to different degrees, statist or populist, leftist or progressive, right-wing or conservative, liberal or libertarian, and centrist. It provides a brief explanation of each of the political positions contemplated.
Advocates for Self-Government calculates that 7 million of these tests have been printed and have been used in more than 420 study centers, not counting the use of online versions.
