Westpunkt

The point of the horizon, which is 90 ° from both intersections of the meridian with the horizon and at which the sun is sunk during the equinox, is designated as the western point, or even the evening point. It thus forms the western intersection of the horizon with the heavenly equator. The angle between the west point and the point of decline of the sun, viewed from the observer, is called the evening range. At the time of equinox this angle is 0 °.
