Sibylle Fendt
Sibylle Fendt (born July 19, 1974 in Karlsruhe) is a German photographer.
After studying philosophy, Sibylle Fendt studied photography at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences from 1996 to 2002, and from 2004 to 2006 with Wolfgang Tillmans at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2002, she has been working as an independent photographer and won the Kodak Junior Research Prize in the same year. In 2003, she participated in the exhibition "Rencontres de la Photographie Africaine" in Bamako / Mali and participated in the Joop Swart Master Class of World Press Photo. Their topics are mostly social-critical, they focus on people from the margins of society, such as those who are mentally ill or fatal, with a strong focus on feminist aspects.
Sibylle Fendt lives and works in Berlin. She teaches at the Ostkreuzschule for photography and design in Berlin-Weißensee and is a member of the Ostkreuz agency.
