Human rights organizations are organizations that fight human rights violations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights plays an important role in its work. Human rights organizations try, for example, to influence political processes or to initiate political processes, such as the imprisonment of political prisoners, the imminent death penalty or the persecution of ethnic minorities through the organization of rallies, protest letters or press releases.
Human rights organizations are mostly non-governmental organizations, similar to citizens' movements. (In the narrower sense, the concept of "human rights" is understood as a counter-concept to "civil rights", since it concerns the fundamental rights which, irrespective of nationality, belong to all human beings.) They are usually donated, honorary members and advocates of prominent sponsors supported.
