David Chaves
David Chaves (or Chavez in some works, Chilecito - San Juan, July 2, 1903) was an Argentine politician and engineer, who held the position of Governor of San Juan.
Born of the marriage formed by Crisólogo Chaves and Doña María F. Andueza. Although he was born in Sarmiento, near Chilecito, in La Rioja, he settled in San Juan, attending the National School. He received an Engineer at the School of Mines of San Juan (now National University of San Juan) and later studied surveying.
He was Minister of Public Works of the Province between 1892 and 1895 of the governors Alejandro Albarracín, Domingo Morón and Justo Castro. During his tenure as governor, the historic monument to Salvador María del Carril was inaugurated. For reasons of health, his lieutenant governor, the lawyer Pedro Doncel, took office between December 1901 and February 1902.
