Annamária Tóth


Annamária Tóth (born Kovács, born September 14, 1945 in Budapest) is a former Hungarian athletics league leader who appeared mainly in the five-fights but also as a sprinter and jumper.

Her greatest success was her winning bronze medal in the five-fights at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. It achieved its personal best performance of 4959 points (80-meter hurdles: 1061, ball hits: 901, high jump: 934, long jump: 1016, 200 meter run: 1047). In addition, she was a member of the Hungarian 4 × 100 m relay, but she was already in the preliminary round. At the 1966 European Athletics Championships in her hometown of Budapest, she finished fifth in the five-fights with 4704 points, only 9 points behind the bronze medal winner Inge Exner.

Tóth was a nine-time Hungarian champion, three of them in the five-fights (1966-1967, 1969). She won five of her titles in sprint disciplines, two in the 80-meter hurdles (1966-1967) and one in the 100-meter hurdle race (1969), the 100-meter run (1966) and the 200-meter run (1967). She also won the championship in 1969.
