2008 Moron Earthquake
The Morón earthquake of 2008 occurred on October 2, 2008 in the Andalusian town of Morón de la Frontera and affected mainly the provinces of Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba, Malaga and Jaén. The 5-second earthquake struck at 6:02 am (local time) and had a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale. In the supermarkets the merchandise remained on the floor and the oldest houses cracked. Two replicates of the earthquake were reported, the strongest of which reached 3.8 degrees.
