Suzanne Helena Johanna Harmes (born January 10, 1986 in Zoetermeer) is a former Dutch art artist.
Suzanne Harmes started her gymnastics at a very young age in the "Pro Patria" gymnastics club in her former home town Zoetermeer. She trained under the supervision of coach Frank Louter, the coach, who also coached Verona van de Leur and Renske Endel. Later she moved to Nijmegen and joined the gymnasium "De Hazenkamp", headed by Boris Orlov.
In 2002 she won a silver medal with the Dutch team at the 2002 European Turn-Up Championships in Patras. One year later she became the first Dutch champion. She won the bronze medal at the 2005 World Gymnastics Championship in Melbourne. At the beginning of 2005 she had gold, silver and bronze on the bar and at the table at the "Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Women" in Maribor, from 28 to 30 October. Because of her pregnancy, she stayed away from the 2006 World Gymnastics Championships in Aarhus from 13 to 21 October 2006. In May 2007 she gave birth to a son. Some time after the birth of her son, she returned to sports gymnastics. She became Dutch master again. Harmes was the only Dutch gymnast who had participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
