Pedro Matías de Goñi, known as Matías Goñi (Viana, 1647 - Mexico City, 1712) was a Spanish Jesuit.
He was born in 1647 in Viana, locality of Navarre. He was ordained a Jesuit priest in Logroño (La Rioja). His apostolate was carried out in the peninsula of Baja California, accompanied Father Kino in his epic trip to the Californias in 1683, a trip in which the Jesuit missionaries attempted to colonize and Christianize the peninsula. The expedition left Sinaloa aboard two ships "La Concepción" under the command of Captain Blas de Guzmán. Father Matías Goñi was aboard that ship while Father Kino was aboard the ship "San José."
He was superior of the Real Colegio de San Ildefonso located in the city of Mexico where he died in 1712.
