Hans Rådström

Hans Vilhelm Rådström (* 1919; † 1970) was a Swedish mathematician who studied functional theory and functional analysis.

Radström was promoted to Torsten Carleman (and Fritz Carlson) at the University of Stockholm (Convexity and Norm in Topological Groups). From 1949 to 1950 he was at the Institute for Advanced Study, where he co-operated with Olof Hanner. He became a lecturer at the University of Stockholm in 1952 and a professor at the University of Linköping in 1969.

He showed an embedding set named after him (the non-empty convex compact subsets of a real normalized vector space can be isometrically embedded in a convex cone of a normalized real vector space)

His doctoral students include Per Enflo and Martin Ribe (who was promoted after his death).

In 1952 he became co-editor of the Nordisk Matematisk Tidskrift. Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
