Flag of Transnistria

National flag and civilian use. Flag of state use.

The flag of Transnistria is a version of the defunct flag of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic. This flag became one of the official symbols of Transnistria in the year 2000, since it appears described in the Law of the Symbols of the State.

The flag consists of a red cloth that incorporates a horizontal strip of green, located in its center. The law also recognizes the existence of a version in which the hammer and sickle and the red star, which is intended for government use, appear at the uppermost end of the mast.
