The Bandit of the Sierra is a play in verse with three acts and an epilogue by Luis Fernández Ardavín, released in 1923.
ArgumentThe drama recreates the myth of the generous bandit, in this case set in a village of Castile of the nineteenth century, recounting the oppression of the people by the local cacique, the rebellion and flight of Salvador and the escapist's affair with the young Fuensanta. Premiere Adaptation
In 1927 a film adaptation was made, directed by Eusebio Fernández Ardavín and starring Josefina Díaz de Artigas and Santiago Artigas.
