Ryan Shultz (* 1963) is an American jazz bass player of modern jazz.

Shultz arbeitete u.a. mit den Saxophonisten Anthony Braxton, Ari Brown, Don Menza, Dave Liebman und Nick Brignola, den Trompetern Randy Brecker, Johnny Coles, Paul Smoker, John McNeil und Bobby Shew, den Perkussionisten Ray Appleton, Manolo Badrena, Steve Barrios, Robby Ameen und Steve Houghton, dem Hornisten Tom Varner und dem Multiinstrumentalisten Ira Sullivan.

Between 1989 and 1995, he participated four times in the Chicago Jazz Festival, 1995 with the Damon Short Sextet at the "What Is Jazz" festival in the Knitting Factory. In 1996, he appeared at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta and in the following year he was a featured performer of the International Association for Jazz Education.

Shultz leads his own quartet and several trio projects; He is also a member of several Chicago-based bands including Kelly Brand Quintet, Bob Dogan Quintet, Damon Short Quintet / Sextet, Chicago Jazz Coalition, Rudresh Mahanthappa Quintet, Brackets and Ted Sirotas Rebel Souls.
