Gottfried I of Joinville (Fr. Geoffroy I .; † 1080) was Lord of Joinville and comes Ioviniaci (Count of Joigny?).
Like his father, Stephan of Joinville, Gottfried was known for his raids against church goods in the Champagne region, and like this, he was excommunicated by Pope Leo IX. threatened. Toward the end of his life, however, Gottfried returned large parts of the property he had stolen from the owners.
He was married to Blanche de Reynel (Blanche de Mosellane), sister of Arnoul, canon of Verdun, and had at least three sons with her: Edit source text Edit source text
