José Díez (poet)


José Miguel Diez Salazar with the pseudonym of "Atawallpac" was born in Chiclayo, Peru, on March 16, 1948.

He studied fine arts in his hometown; and in the floral games of poetry he obtained an honorable mention in 1968, with his poemario: Foreign of mine. In the 70 participated in the movement Hour Zero of Lima next to Feliciano Mejía, J Pimentel, J Ramírez Ruiz, and Verástegui, Isaac Rupay, etc. He gave recitals at the National University of San Marcos, La Católica, and at the National Library. His poetry was set in the first years within the social-humanist theme. On leaving for Europe he found new linguistic sources and themes for his creationism; elaborating different ranges of language and movement. He has written a few books of poetry, such as: The Gardens of Iradios, The Mask of Your Gods, Compass of Time, Words in the Fire, etc. Apart from his literary work, he is also known as a painter and draftsman under the pseudonym of: Atawallpac, having exhibited in different European galleries; in Cefral-Paris, Catalan-Barcelona Hispanic Institute, in Hilversum; Amsterdam, in the Volkskrant Hall, Holland. He was given the first prize and recognition in Europe for his poster on the human rights of Peru and Latin America. Literary trajectory
