FNM 421-428

The FNM 421-428 were a group of tenders of the Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), which were designed for freight trains.

The eight machines were built by Breda in 1924-25. In 1940, they were classified in group 220 and were given the numbers 220-01-08.

Soon the machines were sold due to the advanced electrification of the network: Five pieces came to the Società Ferrovia Biella-Novara (SFBN), which classified them as 421-425. Three more came to industrial and production lines.

The SFBN locomotives came to the Ferrovie dello Stato in 1961 with the nationalization of the company, which they classified in the group 842. Because they were already retired, they were soon spotted and scrapped. Weblinks Edit sourcetext Edit source text
