Félix Adán bus terminal
The Felix Adán Terminal is the main bus terminal in the city of Talcahuano, Chile. It is located in Almirante Juan José Latorre 8, corner of Calle Gálvez, close to the Naval Base, Plaza El Ancla and Biotrén Market Station.
HistoryThe Félix Adán de Talcahuano Terminal is an initiative that was promoted by Félix Adán Barrio. Félix Adán arrived from Spain, to settle in Talcahuano, in 1960. The proposal was processed for three years until obtaining the authorizations. The land, in front of the square The Anchor, sheltered formerly a sale of iron, which was demolished by Felix Adam, who first thought to lease the space. The managers said that studies prior to obtaining permits for construction of the terminal, such as those that demonstrate that the traffic will not be affected and others of an environmental type, are made. Then the building was contracted with the Santa Ana Construction Company, which is carrying out the ground movement in Almirante Juan José Latorre 8. The works began in June 2002. A team of professionals supported Felix Adán, among them the architect Rodrigo Burgos and in the real estate management Conrado Fuentes. Design and performance
The design is of a building of transparent metallic structure, with two floors, with capacity for up to 10 booths, with offices, cafeteria, waiting room, among others.
