Kira Carstensen is a filmmaker who was nominated for the Academy Award in the Best Documentary Short Film category at the 2012 Oscar Awards for the production of The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom, together with the director Lucy Walker. Carstensen and Walker were also nominated for this film together with Tim Case and Charles Salice in 2012 for two news & amp; Documentary Emmy Awards nominated. Carstensen's career began in 1995 as an associate producer for the TV series Favorite Deadly Sins. Since 2011 she has produced only documentary short films.
