The Moruy Church is one of the typical examples of religious architecture in Venezuela and one of the best-preserved colonial churches. The church was built in the 18th century and belongs to the Archbishopric of Caracas. The church was consecrated to Saint Nicholas of Myra. At the church is a solid brass plate, with a to the year 1795. However, there is no certainty about the exact date of construction. Due to the seismic activities over the past 300 years, the building has suffered very much. The outer walls had to be supported several times. In 1970, the building was completely renovated, maintaining its original state. Weblinks Edit sourcetext Commons: Iglesia San Nicolás de Moruy - collection of pictures, videos and audio files
