Angelo Musone
Angelo Mottola (born January 10, 1935 in Aversa, Caserta province, Italy, died October 8, 2014) was a diplomat of the Holy See.
Edit LifeQualtext Angelo Mottola received the priestly ordination at the Cathedral of the Bishopric of Porto-Santa Rufina on 2 April 1960 by Eugène Cardinal Tisserant. In 1963, after completing a dissertation on the subject of The Massacre in the second period of the Council of Trent, he was appointed Dr. at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas theol. and entered the service of the Holy See in the same year. Here he was first active for the Congregation for the Oriental Churches. Pope Paul VI. gave him the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness (Monsignore) on August 11, On 29 January 1983 Pope John Paul II gave him the title of honorary prelate of His Holiness. From 1986 he worked in the administration of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples
On July 16, 1999, John Paul II appointed him the titular archbishop of Cercina and the Apostolic Nuncio in Iran. The Bishop gave him Cardinal Secretary Angelo Sodano on 21 September 1999 in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-conquerors were the curia archbishop and secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Marcello Zago OMI and Archbishop Mario Milano, Bishop of Aversa.
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him to the Apostolic Nuncio in Montenegro on 25 January 2007 and accepted his resignation on 17 February 2010 for reasons of age.
