ABC Records
In 1955, American Broadcasting-Paramount Theaters, Inc. formed in New York a subsidiary company called The Am-Par Record Corporation, which began to launch pop jazz and rhythm & amp; blues. The company was renamed ABC-Paramount in 1962, and then in 1967 ABC Records.
ABC-Paramount became one of the leading American record labels in the music industry of the 1950s and 1960s, signing with many rock & roll artists. roll, and launching / purchasing a few secondary labels including Impulse !, Bluesway, Audition, Command Perfomance, Dunhill, Duke / Peacock, Probe, and others.
In 1966, Paramount disbanded its name, and this became known as ABC Records. In the 1970s ABC was seen making events with bands like Ray Charles and Steely Dan, and the label also released some of the most remembered soul songs of the time of artists like Isaac Hayes, The Four Tops and The Dells. >
In 1979, ABC Records was purchased by MCA Records, and ceased to exist as a record label until after its purchase, although some popular ABC titles were reissued by MCA.
