Tasos Mitsopoulos

Tasos Mitsopoulos (Greek Τάσος Μητσόπουος; * May 30, 1965 in Larnaca; † March 22, 2014) was a Cypriot politician.
He studied law at the National and Kapodistrias University of Athens. After that, he was initially a consultant to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the office manager of Nikos Anastasiadis, the party chairman of the conservative Cypriot party DISY, as well as a press officer of this party.
In 2006, he was elected to the Cypriot parliament as a member of DISY for the Larnaca constituency, and he was re-elected in the following parliamentary elections in 2011. When Nikos Anastasiadis became president of Cyprus in 2013, he took Mitsopoulos as a communications minister into his cabinet. After the withdrawal of the DIKO from the government coalition, Mitsopoulos became Minister of Defense on 14 March 2014 as the successor of the DIKO politician Fotis Fotiou.
