Server in the Place of Truth
Server of the Place of Truth, in Ancient Egypt, translation of sḏm-ˁš m st mˁ3t, as Server (of Sḏm (.w) ˁš: literally, "who hears (or obeys) the call") in the Place of Truth (of st Mȝˁ.t, "Place of Truth", name where they worked in the Theban necropolis, on the west bank of the Nile) Servants of the Place of Truth or also Servants of Set Maat was the name given to the workers and craftsmen of the town of Deir el-Medina, where the community in charge of the construction of the tombs and funeral temples of the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom of Egypt (Dynasties XVIII to XX). This denomination is in the tomb of Sennedyem as well as in the tomb of Pached. The village, whose Egyptian name was Pa Demi, was located below the Valley of the Kings, halfway between the Ramesseum and the Temple of Medinet Habu.
