Through the death of Father Isaak, they see their chance to build a cruel regime on the earth because they want to scare and frighten all the children of the world.
To prevent the evil power from conquering the world, Amos the Teddy, Skippy the Rabbit, the Pimpled Cat, Einstein the Elephant, Caramel the Bitch and the Old, a doll with the look of an old man, to Martha Miller go, so that she may become father Isaac's successor. Martha Miller will have to follow the same night, and not only the stuffed animals, but also the world will be saved.
For the six wizards, a dangerous journey begins through the night city to come to Martha Miller. But a few sheet metal toys under the guidance of the Marionette Rex want to destroy the travelers.
But there is still a danger for the animals: Zacharias Zack, the child-loving Zack, wants to take over the factory of Father Isaak to help the evil power in their conquest plans. He wants to persuade Viktor Liebmann, the nephew of the late Isaac, to sell the factory to him. Edit the movietext
The Warner Brothers Studios acquired the film rights of the book and Tim Burton was to film the book.
Dean Koontz was enthusiastic about it, but Tim Burton rejected the filming. Dean Koontz feared that his book would be badly filmed. So he offered Warner Brothers a book of short stories to get the film rights back for his novel.
