Mário Silva (Taekwondoin)
Mário Gentil Silva (born January 1, 1993) is a Portuguese Taekwondo. It starts in the weight class up to 63 kilograms.
Silva took his first international title bouts at the 2007 Junior European Championships in Baku and finished in the class up to 51 kilograms. Two years later, he was able to advance to the quarter-finals at the Junior European Championships in Trelleborg. Silva won his first international medal at the 2010 Olympic Youth Games in Singapore. In the class up to 63 kilograms he moved into the final and won silver. The following year, he played his first world championship in adulthood in Gyeongju, but retired from Michael Harvey early. At the 2012 European Championships, Silva reached the semi-final in the class up to 63 kilograms, where he lost again to Harvey, winning the bronze medal, but his biggest success in the adult world. At the European Olympic qualifying tournament in Kazan, Silva lost the quarter-final against Hryhory Chusarov and missed the participation in the Olympic Games in 2012. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
