Val Toriello

Valerie "Val" Toriello was a fictional character in the television comedy, The Nanny. She was represented by actress Rachel Chagall. Fran's best friend

Val is Fran Fine's best friend since high school in Flushing, Queens, New York. When the show began, Val was also working in the same bridal shop as Fran, and it was there when Fran was both fired from her job and abandoned by her ex-boyfriend, Danny Imperiali, in favor of Fran's arch-rival , Heather Biblow.

Sometimes Val says things not very bright, and at the same time annoy and worry Fran. Val, as well as Fran's mother and grandmother, was first moved, and then rejoiced that Fran found a job as a nanny so shortly after being dismissed from the bridal shop.

The character of Chagall owes its name to a biological cousin of Fran Drescher named Erica Toriello.
