Christian Gottfried Whistling (born 26 January 1748 in Hartmannsdorf near Chemnitz, Germany, October 29, 1807 in Merseburg) was a German physician, pharmacist and farmer.

Whistling studied medicine at the University of Jena, where he became a doctor at Ernst Anton Nicolai in 1778 med. was promoted. From 1782 he worked twelve years as an official physician in the town of Kelbra. In 1794 he took over the Hofapotheke in Altenburg and worked last in Merseburg.
He was a member of numerous academic societies. Of particular importance is his four-volume economic planting, which for a long time was a standard work. Edit FamilyQuelltext
