Rajni Kothari
Rajni Kothari (1928 - 19 January 2015 in New Delhi) was an Indian political scientist and social scientist. He founded Lokayan, a meeting and training center for social changes in India, which received the Right Livelihood Award in 1985. Edit LifeQualtext
Rajni Kothari was a lecturer at the University of Baroda. Since 1961 he published articles on politics and society of India. In 1963, he founded the Center for the Study of Developing Societies in Delhi, which published numerous sociological studies on society in India over the next two decades. In 1980 he founded Lokayan - Dialogue of the People as a forum where scientists and political activists were able to exchange ideas about changes in Indian society. In 1985 she received the Right Livelihood Award.
