José Magaz and Jaime

José Magaz Jaime (Calatayud, 1826 - Madrid, 1894) was a Spanish politician and hacendista. Biography

Deputy elected by Zaragoza from 1862 to 1868, he was Undersecretary of Finance from April 24 of that same year when he was appointed Acting Minister of Finance on September 20, 1868 shortly before the Glorious. During his brief term he tried to reorganize the pensions of widowhood and was stopped when the revolution triumphed ten days after being named. After the Bourbon restoration in Spain was senator by the province of Saragossa in 1877. Its brother Juan Magaz and Jaime was the first marquess of Magaz.
