Darius Vilàs
Darius Vilàs i Fernández (Barcelona, 1880 - 1950) was a Spanish painter, decorator and engraver.
He studied at the Lonja School and completed studies in Rome and Paris. His first oil works consist of Pyrenean landscapes and the Costa Brava. Later he would specialize in mural decoration and religious art.
He made, on behalf of the American millionaire Charles Deering, the decoration of the presbytery and the dome of the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament of the church of San Bartolomé and Santa Tecla de Sitges. There are also the large oil paintings that decorate the dining room of the March Palace in Palma de Mallorca.
Many of his religious works were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War.
