Organization for the cause of woman
The organization for the cause of women (OFRA) was the most important organization of the women's liberation movement (FBB). It was founded on March 13, 1977, following the Zurich Women's Week. Initiatives were women from the Progressive Organizations of Switzerland.
In contrast to the autonomous women's groups of the FBB, the progressive women wanted to combine feminism with socialism. They used the existing political instruments and gave themselves regular club structures. The first launch of the OFRA was the launch of the maternity protection initiative.
The OFRA was dissolved at the end of 1997, the club material was taken over by the social archives. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
