Mariano Albo

Mariano Albo was a Spanish, military architect and engineer of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In 1846 he began his military career. He was known in the studies of Roman archeology for having developed sketches of Augusta Emerita being military Governor.After the return of his exile forced by the liberal opinions, Albo made contributions to the architecture of Madrid thanks to the comments that published. very critical of the expansion works that were planned in some areas of Madrid, being one of the first to offer an alternative to the widening operations of the Puerta del Sol in the city of Madrid. Its proposal to realize a square in the Puerta del Sol with rectangular form was rejected by the City council of Madrid.
