Red Fort Tani Forty Fort, which was the first built city of the present Delhi area. It was founded by Tomar ruler Raja Anang Pal in 1060. Evidence shows that the Tomar dynasty ruled almost south of the Delhi area, which started from 700AD. Then Chauhan king, Prithvi Raj Chauhan took control in the twelfth century and named that town and fort named Kila Rai Pithora. History Map: Map Lal Kot.jpg Map of Lalkot south of Delhi
The name of Delhi is named after the name of "Dhilika" (800 BC) of King Dhilloo, which was the first settlement town in the medieval times, which was located near the south-west border. Which is currently near Mehrauli. This city was the first in seven cities of medieval times. It is also known as Yoginipura, which was in the reign of Yogini (Ex-ancient Devi).
But it got importance when Raja Anangpal Tomar, in the 12th century, started his own Tomar dynasty with Lalkot, after which the Chauhan king of Ajmer conquered it with Muhammad Ghori and named it Kila Rai Pithora. In 1192, when Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated in the battle of Tarain by Muhammad Ghori, Ghori appointed one of his slaves to take over the rule of this. It was Das Qutubuddin Aibak who started the Das dynasty in Delhi Sultanate from 1206. In these sultans, Sultan Qutubuddin Aibak, who initiated the administration, started making Qutub Minar which is considered a symbol of that period. He primarily occupied the Hindu temples and buildings, or made them Muslim by building or breaking them. This includes the construction of the Dhruv pillar built in Lalkot in Qutub Minar and the construction of the Quwait-ul-Islam Mosque, etc.
Later, the Alauddin Khilji, the alauddin Khalji of the Khaliji dynasty, was started to build the Alai Minar here, which was proposed to be twice as high as the Qutub Minar, but could not become due to any reason. He made the fort of Sari and the Hauj special. View
