EBML
EBML, the Extensible Binary Meta Language (formerly Extensible Binary Markup Language), is a generalized file format for any type of data. The goal is a binary equivalent to XML. It provides a simple framework to store data in XML-like identifiers. However, it is not extensible in the same way as XML because the document type definition must be known beforehand.
