Wilhelm Bertuleit
Wilhelm "Willi" Bertuleit (* 29 May 1900 in Rund-Görge near Memel, † 22 July 1941 near Sobjerjesje) was a German politician (NSDAP) and bank director. Life and WorkChoose source code
Bertuleit was the director of a branch of Deutsche Bank in the Memelland occupied by Lithuania. In 1933 he joined the NSDAP. On the basis of his political activity, Bertuleit was sentenced to twelve years' imprisonment. On February 16, 1938, he was released from Lithuanian custody prematurely.
On 25 April 1939, shortly after the German occupation of the Memellandes, Bertuleit entered the National Socialist Reichstag as a deputy for this area, to which he belonged until his death on 22 July 1941. He was also appointed by Memelgouvernor Viktor Gailius with the formation of a memorandum, to the President of which he was finally appointed. Bertuleit was a member of the SA and received the rank of SA Stormbuster in 1939.
Bertuleit died in 1941 as a member of the Wehrmacht during the war against the Soviet Union. Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
