Animac

Animac is an animated film festival that takes place the last week of February in the town of Lérida and brings together the best productions of international animation. It was born in 1996 with the aim of promoting and publicizing audiovisual animation and being a meeting point among professionals in the sector. The works are currently planned in the Llotja de Lleida. In 2009 he was awarded the 2009 National Prize for Culture of the audiovisual sector. Brief history of the official name

The festival was created in 1996 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the cinema. In that year, he appeared with another nobleman, Cinemagic 96, International Festival of Animated Film, under the direction of Eladi Martos and Jordi Artigas. The following year, it finally takes the name Animac, International Animated Film Festival. In 2006 it is added "of Catalonia", with what at the moment the official name is Animac, International Festival of Cinema of Animation of Catalonia.
