Zaña (danza)
Afroperuano dance of the 18th century, which is currently performed only in public shows. It had its origin in the town of Saña, in reaction to the constant threats of divine punishment formulated by the numerous clergymen who inhabited that city in its days of great apogee. The melody, beautiful, was sung by black slaves. The letter used to be blasphemous and sometimes it procrastinates. After the destruction of Saña, the dance continued to be cultivated in certain popular festivals, and some of the lyrics that sang then were adaptations of Spanish children's songs. It is a loose couple dance and in its accompaniment only the drawer is used.
